But, Do You Like You?

Hey Friends!

I know I'm a little early on the post drop this week but, I was feeling pretty good and had a little time today.

This morning while I was snapping a few selfies, and deciding which I wanted to share, I was charged with the question (title of the blog), that popped in my head. After reviewing my selfie, I was like “Wow, natural beauty is lit. I love it here.”

Then I paused and thought, “Wow, I really like me! Like, I like me, like me.” But at that point, I wasn’t just looking at the physical features that can be seen in the picture. I was looking at my spirit as a whole. I was reminiscing on how far I’ve come, from where I used to be. How when I looked at the picture, I didn’t see the young girl I used to know. And honestly, I had never asked myself before. I'd never really sat down and really thought about if I liked me.

BUT. I. DO!

Have you ever been there? Have you ever looked at yourself in amazement? Amazed at how far you’ve come, how much you’ve grown? If not, honey let me tell you, now is the time do so. Stop getting caught up in the superficial likes on social media, and dig into knowing yourself. I don’t know if it’s the sermon my Pastor taught on Sunday, or what but HOOOONNEEYY, I can only see the light.

I prayed for days, moments, and times such as these. I am the woman I’ve always wanted to be, and for that I give God all the Glory. And that best part about this is, God’s not even done with me yet. I have not yet arrived, but I am forever moving towards the mark. The mark of continuing to be better than I was the day before. Living from the inside, out will always be the move. I still have growing to do, there's still more to learn about me, and more to grow into. More love to give, more light to spread, and I'm excited about that.

So really, it’s only up from here!

And sure, the moment that you get focused the distractions come right? Well when they come, we'll refer to this perfectly put sentiment:

Friend, that was whole word there, a whole message. I really hope you caught it.

So now I pose the question to you: Do you like YOU?

Like really like you. Do you like who you are when no one is around? When it’s just you and your thoughts? Can you stand to be alone with you?

I mean, I could ask you a bunch of questions to help you determine if you do, but honestly, that's your business and that's on you. If I could leave you with one thing, it is this:

Do the work. The you, you want to be is on the other side of it.
